Irvine Animal Care Center’s Cat-and-a-Movie Adoption Day
The shelter will be open extended hours and offer special discounts for cat adoptions. There will be cat-
related vendors and a hot dog meal available for a donation. At nightfall, they will show a family feature (G
rated) movie on a big screen, complete with popcorn and sodas. Bring lawn chairs and blankets and come
enjoy the movie!

The Orange County SPCA’s pet-assisted therapy program PAWS) has openings for Volunteer/Dog teams
to visit hospitals, nursing homes and children’s homes throughout Orange County. Minimum Age
Requirements: Dogs must be one year old, handlers 18 years of age. Dogs must be spayed or neutered.

More than 40 pet rescue groups will attend, bringing over 500 homeless dogs and cats. There will also be

Vet” booth and “Ask the Trainer” booth. Snoopy will be our special guest and will be handing out discount
tickets to Knott’s Berry Farm.

Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon to benefit the Helen Woodward Animal Center.
Surfers pledge to catch a set number of waves (in a one hour time frame) then solicit friends and
neighbors for financial support of their efforts. In addition, we will also be hosting fun animal-friendly
contests including a surf competition for our four-legged surfing buddies and a Beach bum bikini babe
canine costume contest! Swamis surf association will also hold a contest for longest ride and best trick.
Vendors from the surf and pet industries will host booths sampling great products for attendees. Local
radio and television stations will be involved in the promotion of this event, with expected attendance in
the thousands!
